New tricks this week:
I've been trying to stretch Karen's nighttime sleep to 6 or later instead
of 5:30. She still doesn't sleep, but we're figuring out how to keep her
content longer so WE can sleep. Karen's sleep resistance has gotten pretty
serious. I put her to sleep in the sling almost every time. I hate putting
the sling in the laundry because I don't want to be without it--even for
2 hours. On the other hand, she has a few nice fun alert times during the
day, and I can't get enough of her smile and those goo-goo noises.
Karen likes to "read" magazines. Here she is reading BusinessWeek with Ari. I'm not sure what it is exactly that holds her attention (maybe it's finally some intellectual stimulation), but she can read a whole magazine with you.
just so you don't think she's cute all the time, here she is crying.
This was the calm before the storm, before she started crying.
Maybe you can see here how well she pushes herself up. Her hands are kind of wide, so she didn't get maximum distance from the bed, but here she did get her whole chest up. We make her do 20 pushups a day, and when she misbehaves it's 50 pushups and 5 laps around the apartment.
Karen's friend Eitan came over. Ziva (my friend) and I joked that Karen was in bed with a younger man. You can see, though, that there wasn't much going on--they're both zonked out.
