New Tricks this Week:
I think Karen is entering her 3 month growth spurt. She's been doing
a lot of eating and sleeping lately (what a GREAT life, huh?). Her alert/play
times are really fun with a lot of cooing and smiling. She's starting to
grab things and put them in her mouth, but sometimes she kind of misses
her mouth. She seems to be developing a particular liking for a cloth stuffed
snake with bright contrasty patterns all over its back. She talks to it
when we show it to her and she can look at it for a long time. She still
mostly hates the car, and cries a lot unless someone is there to talk to
her and engage her constantly. Yesterday, one of the balls Tim got
her was next to her face and she turned her head and tried to "latch on"
to it--VERY cute, you had to see it. When we put her in front of the mirror,
she looks at herself.
This is a wristband (ankleband) rattle that we've been putting on her to see if she realizes she can make the sound by herself. The books say she should be able to soon, but we don't think she knows (or cares). She hasn't found her hand yet.
Karen doesn't exactly drool, but she's starting to foam at the mouth.
Karen is covered with as many of her toys as we could balance on there. For some reason, she likes this (maybe she's in shock!)
